RIDER INFORMATION

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

We accept anyone with any disability, based on minimal criteria. First, they should be able to ride, or pedal, approximately 15-20 miles per day. Over the course of several hours, this is a much more relaxed pace than it may sound. The routes laid out will be mostly flat and primarily easy in difficulty.  If the individual cannot assist in pedaling the distance, the accompanying person should be able to do so for both. If someone is needed to pedal, we will find someone to help out. Siblings and family members are also welcome (at an additional cost).

Participants will be asked to fill out a medical information sheet, and get a letter or approval from their Primary Care Physician.  Forms will be made available on the website and by mail by the end of February 2008.  There may be some limitations placed on people who are determined to be too high of a risk for their own safety, but these issues will be handled on a one by one basis and after thorough discussions.  While we want to open the world of cycling to everyone, some people may not be suited to handle a longer trip, but may be better off taking a shorter tour or day trip.
