JOHN DIGIROLAMO

Mr. DiGirolamo is a currently in a financial management position with Hewlett-Packard and brings over 20 years of finance, accounting and management background, including executive level experience with corporate acquisitions and initial public offerings.  His brother was afflicted with Hunter syndrome, a serious chromosomal genetic disorder that primarily affects males and interferes with the body’s ability to break down and recycle certain enzymes.  He has been a donor and volunteer with ACT for 2 years and joined the Board as Chairman in April 2011.  Mr. DiGirolamo has previously been involved with fundraising at local schools and has lived in Colorado since 2006.  He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Fresno State University and is a CPA (retired status).  Mr. DiGirolamo is married with 2 children and is active in a variety of sports including cycling, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and volleyball.

DAVID SCHAFER

David Schafer grew up in North-Central Illinois and attended college at the University of Iowa where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  Upon his graduation, Mr. Schafer moved to Colorado. Upon moving to Denver, he began his career in retail banking at FirstBank of Colorado.  Mr. Schafer is currently a Vice President and loan officer.

In the last four years Mr. Schafer has volunteered for several non-profit organizations in an effort to give back to his community.  David has been on the boards of Lakewood on Parade and The Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home.

ROBERT MATTER

Mr. Matter has had a variety of experiences in the special needs world. Besides having a son who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, he coached a special needs t-ball league in Indiana prior to his move to Colorado. In the 15 years he has been in Colorado, he has coached and ran the Special Needs T-Ball league in Little League District 2, been a volunteer for multiple years with Special Olympics, sat on the Family Support Board at North Metro Community Services and participated on the State of Colorado DDD Board as a parent representative.

Mr. Matter has 19 years of corporate marketing experience and has been an avid cyclist most of his life. He has participated in events such as Bike MS, Elephant Rock, and other large cycling events as well as has toured parts of Europe by bicycle. Mr. Matter graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public and Environmental Affairs and a graduate degree from Florida State University in International Affairs. He has also lived and studied part of his undergraduate work in Paris, France. He is married with two children and enjoys biking, reading and travel.
